Enter your real numbers for the four DORA metrics and see where each lands — Elite, High, Medium, or Low — against the cited DORA performance clusters. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is stored.
The calculator
How the bands work
Each metric is classified against the performance clusters published in the Accelerate State of DevOps Report 2023 (Google Cloud / DORA). Your overall level is the weakest of the four, because DORA treats delivery performance as limited by its laggard metric. Metrics you leave blank are omitted rather than guessed.
Frequently asked questions
- What are the four DORA metrics?
- Deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and time to restore service. Together they capture throughput (how fast you ship) and stability (how safely you ship), from the DORA / Accelerate research.
- How is my DORA level calculated?
- Each number you enter is classified Elite, High, Medium, or Low against the performance clusters in the Accelerate State of DevOps Report 2023 (Google Cloud / DORA). Your overall level is your weakest metric, matching how DORA frames delivery performance — you are only as strong as your laggard.
- What is a good change failure rate?
- Elite performers keep change failure rate at roughly 5% or lower. 6–10% maps to High, 11–15% to Medium, and above 15% to Low in this calculator.
- Is the calculator anonymous?
- Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, requires no signup, and stores nothing. The shareable link encodes only the numbers you typed, in the URL.
- How do I get these measured automatically?
- Connect GitHub and ShipReady Metrics computes deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and restore time from your real deploys, pull requests, and incidents — so the numbers are evidence, not estimates.
